TRG Group Holds In-Person Monday Morning Coffee During the Pandemic

Human Capital TRG – Monday, 20 July 2020 marked the first in-person Monday gathering for TRG Group employees — better known as Monday Morning Coffee (MMC) — since the Indonesian government declared the COVID-19 pandemic status.

During the PSBB period in Jakarta, roughly from March to June 2020, the MMC normally held in the Indonesian Cloud meeting room on the 12th floor moved online several times via video conference.

When the PSBB shifted to Transitional PSBB, or New Normal, in early July 2020, activity at TRG Group returned close to normal, though with a range of health protocols in place during office work.

With those restrictions eased, and following direction from Group CEO Mr Bobby Rasyidin, employees across TRG Group were invited to gather again for an in-person MMC.

More than 80 people attended, gathering in PT Akses Prima Indonesia's workspace on the 11th floor of Menara MTH — an area large enough for a stand-up meeting while observing all health protocols, namely physical distancing and mask wearing.

Key points from the MMC of 20 July 2020: Mr Bobby Rasyidin opened with remarks on the threat of a global recession caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Several countries had already entered recession, marked by negative economic growth across two consecutive quarters, and in the second quarter of 2020 Indonesia's economic growth stood at minus 2.41%.

1. Stretch Your Effective Hours — Working hours at TRG Group during the Transitional PSBB ran from 07.00 to 14.30 WIB to avoid crowding at arrival and departure. To reach extraordinary performance targets, everyone needs to turn other hours into effective, productive time that can be worked remotely and online.

2. Make Working Hours Count — With limited office hours, employees were asked to fill their working time with activities that are more productive and more useful to company performance, such as scheduling meetings earlier in the day and finding creative ways of working.

3. Teamwork — Employees were encouraged to strengthen collaboration between individuals and between functions, without treating hierarchy or demarcation as an obstacle to working well together.
